Wendy focuses on six essential elements in her design projects—circulation, lighting, color, texture, quality and editing—to interpret the vision of her clients, bringing their ideal homes to life through timeless interiors that reflect their unique lifestyles.
“My goal is for my clients to be comfortable and at ease in their spaces and to feel that their individualization shines through,” she says. “ I want to create a home for my clients that is a reflection of their passions and lifestyle.”
“The feeling when you walk into your home should be one of both luxury and comfort, often achieved through a balance of old and new,” says Wendy. “Design is a process of creating a balance between beautiful, quality pieces and that feeling of comfort and familiarity we all crave.”

Philosophy
How do you create natural flow in a space?
It's about circulation, and how your eye and body easily flow from one room to the next. Spaces should feel cohesive but have their own personalities, strung together with a common thread. There’s an art to determining the correct scale of selected furnishings and accessories to ensure everything flows as it should.
What’s your secret to achieving the ideal lighting in a space, no matter its constraints?
There should be general light sources within a room but also human lighting within a space to illuminate people in a beautiful way. Selecting the correct wattage and bulbs is as important as incorporating dimmers in a design—they provide a glow that cannot otherwise be achieved, unless by candlelight.
What is the role of color in your design aesthetic?
It’s invaluable. The correct choice of color for a space or coordinating spaces is critical to successful design. It can make or break a space. From thousands of whites with different undertones to varying shades and tints of each color, I hone in on the intricacies that I feel are vital to an interior’s success.
How do you add depth to a space?
I turn to texture as a way to create depth in a room. Surfaces should not all look or feel the same. This can be achieved through textured fabrics and wall coverings that change the look of a room while adding interest and warmth. It’s not about matching as much as coordinating a look. The use of mixed metal tones and different floor coverings all add to the depth and timelessness of a room.
What role does quality play, overall?
Quality over quantity is essential to good design. Rushing the process never works, and I would rather design your home and phase your project in a way that allows you to have the best. The goal is to have quality pieces that will stand the test of time stylistically, that you love and that will provide comfort in your home for many years to come.
What is the key to editing in your process?
A space with too many prominent elements doesn’t allow your eye a chance to pause and rest. Editing things out is extremely important in design. Especially when it comes to accessorizing, knowing when to take a few things away is essential.
